François Audet is Executive Director of the Canadian Research Institute on Humanitarian Crisis and Aid, University of Montréal. He was previously Head of the Regional Delegation of East Africa and the Indian Ocean for the Canadian Red Cross, and acted as a Director of Programs for CARE Canada. In his fifteen years of experience as a humanitarian practitioner, he participated in more than a hundred humanitarian and technical help missions in Haiti, Colombia, Somalia and in the Darfur region of Sudan. He also worked for many years for the Canadian Centre for International Studies and Cooperation, as the Head of humanitarian aid projects in Honduras and Vietnam.
