A talk by Abdulkader Sinno, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies, Indiana University.

This talk will be based on Professor Sinno’s book, Organizations at War in Afghanistan and Beyond (Cornell University Press, 2008). Offering a close study Afghanistan’s troubled recent history, this book examines the internal organizational structures of war-fighting groups, arguing that certain structures have inherent advantages in performing “essential organizational processes” such as efficient mobilization, strategy execution, coordination, the management of factionalism, and the processing of information. Professor Sinno is also editor of a forthcoming volume, Muslims in Western Politics.
