Oskar N.T. Thoms earned an M.A. in Sociology at Montreal’s McGill University in 2005. Before joining the University of Ottawa’s Centre for International Policy Studies, he worked as an independent research consultant on academic and policy research projects supported by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade or the Canadian International Development Agency. In 2005/2006, he was a Research Associate at the McGill Research Group in Conflict and Human Rights. Thoms has co-published scholarly articles on issues of human rights and violent conflict. His current research interests focus on international governance and human rights. He lives in Wakefield, Quebec.
