Eugenia Zorbas détient un doctorat du Development Studies Institute de la London School of Economics and Political Science. Elle s’est vu confier près de 100,000$ en bourse de recherche par diverses institutions incluant le Fonds Québécois de recherche sur la société et la culture, le Crisis States Research Centre et l’Université de Londres pour sa thèse intitulée «Reconciliation in Post-genocide Rwanda: Discourse and Practice ». Zorbas a travaillé sur et dans la région des Grands lacs africains depuis 2002, récemment en tant que chef des affaires politiques de la mission des Nations Unies en République démocratique du Congo (MONUC) à Goma, Nord Kivu, de fin 2007 à début 2009. Elle a travaillé deux ans et demi pour une firme d’analyse de risques politiques, basée à Londres, menant des recherches sur la région des Grands lacs. Elle a aussi travaillé pour l’ONG Global Rights, basée à Washington, en tant que chargée de dossier pour les programmes de la RDC et du Burundi, et enfin pour le Haut commissariat de l’ONU pour les réfugiés (HCR) en tant qu’assistante du représentant pour le Rwanda.
