Barry Rubin est directeur du Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) Center au Interdisciplinary Center et l’un des auteurs les plus connus sur des sujets comme le conflit israélo-palestinien, le terrorisme et la sécurité et l’histoire du Moyen-Orient de façon générale. Il occupé plusieurs postes de chercheur associé, notamment chez Fulbright, au Council on Foreign Relations, au U.S. Institute of Peace, et au Washington Institute for Near East. Il est aussi éditeur de The Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA). Il a écrit et édité de nombreux ouvrages incluant The Arab-Israel Reader and The Long Road to Freedom: The Arab Struggle for Democracy in the Middle East. Dr. Rubin contribue fréquemment au New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, et Foreign Policy.
